About the studio

In our Durham moors studio we make and teach fused glass — created for sale, for commissions, and for exhibitions. Best of all, we love running guest workshops.

Join our hands-on kiln-glass workshops at The Glass Shed. Perfect for beginners and experienced crafters alike, our sessions are a creative escape while you learn new skills — personalised coasters, decorative panels and unique art pieces under expert guidance. Consett, Co Durham is our nearest town.

03 — Workshops

Menu & price list

Basic “Make” workshops (2.5 hrs)

A great starting point. Learn cutting and basic fused-glass skills — then it’s one and done, with little or no theory. We mail out your creations.

  • Make a coaster set £12

    Cut 4-inch squares, add design elements, fire it! The perfect first step — we guide you all the way.

  • Make a tie dye £15

    Cut a six-inch square, add glass frit, learn some magic (use a wand), fire! Guided all the way.

  • Make a lantern £22

    Replace lantern glass with your own designs using our pre-cut clear panels. Guidance all the way.

Two-firing “Make” workshops (2 × 2.5 hrs)

Takes a couple of visits — a natural next step. A bit more theory if you want it; the focus is a finished project to take home.

  • Basic woven glass £12

    Learn to tell your warp from your weft — cut your own or use ours. Weave, fire! Guided throughout.

  • Basic pattern bars £15

    Design and fire, then cut your bar (like rock) into fascinating tablets to re-fire. Guided throughout.

  • Basic bubble platters £22

    Trapping bubbles between layers — we have just the jig you need. Guided throughout.

Immerse yourself in the studio (4.5 hrs)

Take your time with all the studio equipment and master the basics — schedules, cutting, studio skills. Make your unique glass object; we mail it to you.

  • Ninja cutting £12

    Learn to use hand tools, grinder, wet diamond saw, silhouette cutter and sandblaster.

  • Cold working £15

    Why not make jewellery? Learn to drill holes.

  • Mixed skill projects £22

    Combine fusing and engraving skills.
